Poolbar Festival — Feldkirch (AT) Vorarlberg

Poolbar Festival is an Austrian music festival that takes place in an indoor swimming pool and its surroundings. Over the course of six weeks, up to 30,000 people from all over Europe, especially Austria and its neighboring regions (Switzerland, Liechtenstein and Germany), attend the festival. The festival offers fresh and high quality alternative pop music. The program ranges from family-friendly jazz breakfasts in the park to cinema, cabaret, literature, club nights and live concerts.  For more information, visit their websitewww.poolbar.at. Every year, the design is developed by students in the laboratories on site :  Brand Design, Architecture, Interior Design, Literature, Digital Projects, Art and Street Art. During one week, concepts are developed that will make the festival work in the old indoor pool as well as in the open-air version.

For this year's festival design, the brand design team was inspired by teletext and pixel graphics. This visual language was translated into a more modern interpretation and clichéd elements of the pool, such as a dolphin or palm trees, were then incorporated. The animation follows the principle of a shimmering reveal. It attempts to mimic the water of a shimmering pool, but at the same time symbolize the movement, action and rhythm synonymous with festivals.
